Classically Suited Standard
Poodles prides itself on
breeding puppies who are outgoing,
confident, intelligent, structurally
sound and healthy.
All of our breeding bitches and dogs
are genetically tested to ensure that
they are free of the
genetic defects
prevalent in Standard Poodles.
|
Our
breeding pairs are selected based on
their pedigrees, conformation, and
temperament. It is our mission to better
the Standard Poodle breed.
Our puppies are never kenneled.
Single litters are home raised as a part
of our family. Since Classically Suited
Poodles is a subsidiary of Service Dogs
International, basic obedience training,
socialization and housebreaking starts
for all puppies at 6 weeks of age. By
the time you take you puppy home (from 8
to 12 weeks of age) your puppy is well
on its way with both obedience training
and being housebroken.
All of our puppies are AKC registered
and come with a health guarantee. The
puppies are wormed at 2,4,6 and 8 weeks.
Their tails are docked and their dew
claws removed. They receive their first
shots at 8 weeks of age.
Your puppy will leave us with a puppy
pack to help get you started with your
new puppy.
HOW MUCH DOES A CLASSICALLY SUITED
STANDARD POODLE COST?
Classically Suited Poodles pet quality puppies range in price from $650 -
$850.
We are frequently asked the question, "If your puppies are such high quality, why do you sell them at such a reasonable price?"
We are aware that Standard Poodle pet quality puppies frequently sell for between $1,000 and $1,200. We are also aware that most of these puppies do not have the quality of pedigree, the structural soundness, or the temperament of our puppies.
We sell our puppies at a reasonable
price because we know that we can select
the families that we sell our puppies
to. Our commitment to our breeding
program is to select homes in which our
puppies can grow to be the trusting,
loving, socially well-adjusted dog that
they were bred to be. Selling our high-quality puppies at a reasonable price, gives us that ability.
All pet puppies are sold with Limited Registration. Our show quality puppies range in price from $1,000 to $1,500
and are sold with Full Registration and
Co-Ownership.
Purchasing a puppy is the same as anything else you purchase. You get what you pay for. This is not the time to hunt for a bargain. Your new puppy will be a member of your family for
its lifetime, so you'll want to make a wise investment.
SELECTING A BREEDER
Following is the AKC criteria for
selecting a breeder. Classically Suited
Poodles supports and adheres to all of
the AKC recommendations.
You should buy your puppy from a
responsible and well-respected breeder.
This cannot be stressed enough.
Responsible breeders are concerned with
the betterment of the breed. For
example, they work on breeding healthier
dogs with the appropriate temperament
for their breed.
Find a breeder who is
knowledgeable and make sure you are comfortable with them. Establish an
excellent rapport with them. Your
breeder will be an excellent resource
and breed mentor for you throughout the
life of your puppy. You should be
encouraged to call the breeder if your
dog has a crisis at any stage of its
life.
Once you select a breeder, screen the
breeder. Ask to see at least one of the
parents (the dam or the sire) of your
puppy. See how the dogs in your
breeder's home interact with your
breeder. Are they friendly and outgoing
or do they shy away? The responsible
breeder will be screening you, too,
looking for the best home for each
puppy.
Observe the premises. Is the
house/kennel clean? Odor free? Dogs and
puppies should be clean, well-fed,
lively and friendly. Look for signs of
malnutrition such as protruding rib
cages or illness such as runny
nose/eyes, coughing, lethargy and skin
sores.
A responsible breeder will test their
dogs for genetically prevalent diseases
within the breed. They will be happy to
discuss these and any other health
issues with you.
